Kolhapur: In a landmark development for regional aviation in Maharashtra, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, today inaugurated the newly constructed ATC Tower cum Technical Block cum Fire Station at Kolhapur Airport.
The event also marked the launch of Star Air’s inaugural flight service connecting Kolhapur to Nagpur, aimed at strengthening intra-state connectivity.
This significant infrastructure upgrade is aligned with the central government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) initiative, aimed at enhancing regional air travel and ensuring robust air safety mechanisms.
The new facilities are designed to support improved air traffic management, enhance operational efficiency, and elevate emergency response capabilities at Kolhapur Airport.
“This development underscores our commitment to bringing modern and inclusive aviation infrastructure to every region of India,” said Murlidhar Mohol, MoS for Civil Aviation.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the dynamic direction of Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Maharashtra’s aviation infrastructure is advancing at an unprecedented pace.”
